Dallas Mavericks forward DeJuan Blair has been suspended for Game 5 of their first-round playoff series with the San Antonio Spurs for kicking former teammate Tiago Splitter in the head, the league president of basketball operation Rod Thorn announced on Tuesday.

"Dallas Mavericks backup center DeJuan Blair has been suspended for Game 5 of the first-round series against the San Antonio Spurs, NBA president of basketball operations Rod Thorn announced Tuesday," via ESPN.

Blair, who averaged 6.4 points and 4.7 rebounds in his first season with the Mavericks, was booted out of the game after he was caught giving the Brazilian center a kick in the noggin with roughly three minutes left in Game 4.

The Mavs big man claimed that he was merely reacting to the call, and didn't have the intention to kick Splitter, who was his teammate during his time with the Spurs.

The Spurs-Mavs series is tied at 2-2.
