NBA superstar LeBron James said that he is willing to relinquish his role as a starter if it would mean that the Cleveland Cavaliers will start winning more games.

The Cavs had a rough start to the season despite acquiring James and another legitimate all-star in Kevin Love. Nevertheless, things seem to to be coming together for rookie NBA coach David Blatt as Cleveland are currently the hottest team in the Association, boasting an eleven-game winning streak and fourth in the Eastern Conference.

"It's all about the team and for me being the leader of the team, it doesn't matter,” said the Akron, Ohio native.

“Whatever this team needs in order for us to win, I'll come off the bench. I'm serious. I'll come off the bench."

"If it helps our team, that's what it's about, man.”

The said statement came after the Cavs defeated the Philadelphia 76ers, with Love struggling on the offensive end throughout the game but stuck to his role as board-crasher.

"It's about a team and how we all fit together, how the five guys on the court fit together,” he added.

“How the eight guys or 10 guys on the bench all help the guys that are on the floor and so on and so on.”

“So, sacrifice is the biggest word in team sports, but it's not about saying it. It's about doing it, as well. It's about living it."

While acknowledging that LeBron’s statement could only do the team good, Blatt was not quite ready to give in to such a bold suggestion, indicating that the King will still have his throne, so to speak.

"No. No. Nope. He's doing fine as he is. He's doing quite fine," said Blatt.

"LeBron is a champion and he's not only a great player, but he's a great teammate and he wants his guys, his teammates, to do well and he wants the team to do well."

"And that's a big positive; it's a really big positive."
