The 66th annual NBA All-Star weekend will culminate Sunday evening with the showpiece NBA All-Star Game 2017 at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. The game will pit the East's elite, led by LeBron James, against the West's top stars, led by Kevin Durant and an unprecedented three Golden State Warriors teammates.

Never before have four players from the same team represented a conference at the All-Star game. While Durant and Stephen Curry were voted in as starters, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson are due to come off the bench. The major storyline surrounding the game involves Durant and Russell Westbrook potentially sharing the floor as teammates for the first time since the 2013-14 NBA MVP took his talents to the Bay Area.

Meanwhile, the East would be represented by only two of the Cleveland Cavaliers' Big 3 after Kevin Love suffered a season-threatening knee injury last week. The stretch-4 power forward would be replaced by Carmelo Anthony, who could come to terms with the New York Knicks on a potential trade ahead of Thursday's NBA Trade Deadline. Boston Celtics coach Brad Stevens, who will coach the Eastern All-Stars, is thrilled to share the stage with the league's best players.

NBA All-Star Game 2017: Brad Stevens to coach the East

"I think it's a great opportunity for a basketball junkie (like myself) to be around high achievers, and for me it's all about (how much) I love the game. I grew up in the state of Indiana, where the game is really important. Whether it was high school or college or pros, there was always somebody to watch and somebody to learn from. To be around the best in this game is an honour," said Stevens, whose rising Celtics squad are just a few games behind the top-seeded Cavs in the conference, via ESPN.

Westbrook, one of the two leading candidates to win the 2016-17 MVP honour, didn't dodge any Durant-related questions during the NBA All-Star media availability on Friday. "I'm (just) excited to be here (at the NBA All-Star Game 2017. I don't know what you all need (to hear). I'm in a great place. I'm having fun, having a great time. I'm happy with my team now and looking forward to moving forward."

Durant, on the other hand, reckoned his sour relationship with Westbrook was overblown by the media. “Stuff that you guys think are important, I don't think it's important at all. Now it's about all this other stuff." Durant's new teammate, Draymond Green, is excited to play the exhibition game alongside three other Warriors. "It's pretty special -- three of your teammates in the All-Star Game. You make up four of the 12 guys, and that says a lot about our team, most importantly. To share the floor with those guys, especially in an environment like this, means a lot."
