Apparently, social media sites have become a means of communicating with celebrities and fans far and wide. Despite the open bashing and hate, some celebrities still manage to stick to such social media sites. The famous British boy band, One Direction is in fact one of a few celebrities most hyped about on social media sites.

Well, having been part of the Hollywood buzz, online and off line, the boys of One Direction are reason alone for the social media madness all thanks to "X-Factor" of course. Social Impact tabulates the scores of who among the "X-Factor" contestants made it to the top ten.

The boys of One Direction, namely Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles surprisingly make it to the number one spot. It's definitely an award they can add to their recent three wins at the MTV Video Music Awards 2012.

Social Impact had tabulated all the social network activity of which included Facebook likes, YouTube views and Twitter followers. Of course, the British boys did not fall short this time despite falling at the number five spot on the richest Brits under 30 lists.

One Direction managed to nab 117 million points putting them in the lead. Leona Lewis who had won the "X-Factor" back in 2006 managed to make it to second place which makes her even "closer" to potential mate, Liam Payne. Liam's newest flame made around 27.8 million points.

Cher Lloyd, on the other hand, also from "X-Factor" nabbed around 26 million points. Zayn Malik's girlfriend, Perrie Edwards of the famous girl group, Little Mix also made it to the number four spot with 9.7 million points.

Other "X-Factor" contestants also popular on social media sites include Matt Cardle with 5.8 million points putting him at number five. The full list of winners for Social Impact is as follows:
