"Mortal Kombat X" gamers were dismayed when the game's release for the Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony PlayStation 3 kept getting pushed further away. Now that the game has been completely trashed, "disappointed" would be an understatement.

"After months of development, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has come to the regrettable conclusion that we cannot release 'Mortal Kombat X' for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360," WB community administrator Yorick announced on WB Games Community last week. "Please know our teams worked diligently to meet the quality standards set by the current gen versions of the game."

Shortly after the announcement was made, the "Mortal Kombat X" listing on Sony's PlayStation website was removed as well, according to Tech Times. High Voltate Software was tasked by NetherRealm, the game's developer, to port the game to PC and today's last gen gaming consoles. However, the PC port reportedly had a lot of issues.

Despite that, multiple online publications have pointed out that the main reason why the game was cancelled was because WB was "not able to get the PS 3 and Xbox 360 versions to the quality expected of a 'Mortal Kombat' game.

That said, Yorick added that the company is "very sorry for not being able to deliver the products as originally planned." Since numerous Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 gamers have already gotten ahead and made their pre-orders for the game, they will all be refunded in full.

The "Mortal Kombat X" cancellation for the aforementioned last gen gaming hardware is only one of its many disappointing news. Apparently, downloading the next patch for "Destiny" will not be as easy as usual.

Bungie had revealed that the next "Destiny" installment will require a hard drive space that is more than what the latest consoles have. Thankfully, there are solutions to this problem; either gamers install a much bigger hard drive or upgrade their consoles all together.
