Lily Collins might have done a great job at portraying Clary Fray for "The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones." Yet, this hasn't stopped a few critics and fans from naming other potential stars that could have played Clary Fray. Here are just a few celebrities who could have played the red-haired "Shadowhunter" in Cassandra Clare's best-selling novels.

"Hunger Games" and "Divergent" are just a few film adaptations that have got fans pretty hyped as of late. Another film adaptation causing quite a ruckus online includes Cassandra Clare's "The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones." The film recently hit the cinemas nationwide with reviews bordering between good and bad.

While Jamie Campbell Bower won a lot of hearts for his role as Jace Wayland, Lily Collins got only a few great feedbacks. Still, Lily is signed on to do three more films for the franchise as Clary Fray, but if critics had it their way, Lily Collins could be replaced.

Who is Lily Collins' character in the film anyway? For those who have yet to read the books or watch the film, Collins plays the female protagonist Clary Fray. Fray is described in the book as having red hair, a freckled face and short yet pretty. Another notable description is that Clary describes herself as a "Raggedy Ann Doll" to her mother's "Barbie doll look." Some fans loved Lily Collins' look and acting for the film, but a few critics remained hard to please.

Old time favourites for the part of Fray, namely Jessica Stroup, Emma Roberts, Molly Quinn and Liliana Mumy, are just a few actresses wanted by fans. Another Emma up for the part of Fray includes red head Emma Stone of "Zombie Land" and "Easy A."
