The days of "Harry Potter" and "Twilight" ruling the box office are over. This time, an all-new film adaptation is set to rule cinemas worldwide. Cassandra Clare's best-selling novel, "The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones" is set to hit theatres by August 21 and fans of the book are nothing short of excited. So will this film be the next hype as "Harry Potter" and "Twilight?"

It looks like the start of something big next to that of Suzanne Collins "Hunger Games." "The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones" is certainly one of the next hype in fantasy and fiction with a world of half-angels, demons, werewolves, vampires, fairies and warlocks. How is this film different from the likes of "Harry Potter", "Twilight" and "Hunger Games?" What makes "TMI" different?

"I think ours has a comedic undertone that none of the other have. We don't take ourselves too seriously," explains Lily Collins who plays the lead female protagonist, Clary Fray, in the film.

"Also, we're telling a very real story that just happens to be taking place in a fantasy world. And the two worlds are married in a way that it almost doesn't matter because it's a very realistic situation that Clary finds herself in: she's trying to find her mother," continues Collins, adding, "The movie is all character and emotion-based. And romance doesn't define Clary. She's defined by the drama and the action and the emotional journey she goes on."

"The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones" is the first book in Clare's series of six. The film adaptation of "City of Bones" is set to hit theatres by August 21. For fans waiting for the much anticipated reveal, judging from what Collins had to share, the film is definitely one to please.
