True fans of Cassandra Clare's novel, "The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones," would agree that Jamie Campbell-Bower had done an impressive job at portraying Jace Wayland. Of course, this has not stopped a few critics from stating Jamie wasn't fit for the part and that other celebrities could have done better since the release of the film adaptation. Here are just a few Hollywood hunks that had been eyed by some fans for the part of Jace Wayland.

Being blonde wasn't the only factor that was vital to Jace Wayland's character. Fans wanted Hollywood hunks that had the sarcasm and charm Cassandra Clare's character was described in the books. Other than Jace, other British stars were also eyed for the film. Yet, the first choice for the part was that of "Magic Mike's" stripper, Alex Pettyfer.

Alex Pettyfer was first eyed for the part of Jace Wayland, but he had turned down the offer for the film himself. Of course, quite a few fans had been crestfallen because of Alex's reply to the casting news. This had led producers to look elsewhere for possible actors. Even fans joined in on the casting speculation.

Other than Alex Pettyfer, "Hunger Games'" Alexander Ludwig (Cato of District 1) had also been eyed for the role. Aside from the fact that Alexander has the abs to boast, Ludwig certainly has no problems playing the role of an overly confident character as proven by his role in "The Hunger Games."

A few other stars eyed to play Jace Wayland include Lucas Till, Austin Butler, William Moseley, Sterling Knight and Jeremy Sumpter. Check out the slideshow to see all the actors who could have stolen the role away from Jamie Campbell-Bower.
