Bethesda’s “Fallout 4” is without a doubt one of the most popular games this season. In fact, the game has generated much hype since its surprise reveal at E3 earlier this year. Perhaps what makes players drawn into the franchise are the previous titles like “Fallout 4,” which have provided players with countless hours of gaming. These titles are rather outdated now, but modders have found a way to let gamers relive the first “Fallout” in a whole new way.

A new mod discovered on Nexus Mods follows the efforts of a group of modders as they try to bring back to life Bethesda’s first entry in the “Fallout” series. The first game was an isometric RPG which channels other RPG’s like “Diablo.” The modders have a new and modern take on the game.

The mod aptly named “Fallout the Story,” is not just any mod. In fact, it is the first “Fallout” but it’s played on “Fallout New Vegas.” Unlike the original game, the reinvigoration of the title is played much like current “Fallout” games with updated graphics and gameplay.

A video posted on YouTube starts off like any “Fallout New Vegas” copy with the player waking up inside a house. Later on in the video, the player begins reading a book titled “Memoirs of a Vault Dweller.” Upon reading, players are treated to a short title sequence. From then on, they will have access to the first “Fallout” as per the style of “Fallout New Vegas.” It includes everything starting from the game’s opening sequence to the game’s first area for players to explore.

So far, the mod is still incomplete. The modders note that although Vault 13 and 15 are done and fully rendered, other areas in the game still have some work needed for them. The mod itself is an excellent take on the first “Fallout” so players should keep an eye on it once it’s fully complete.
