Bethesda is preparing copies of “Fallout 4” for an upcoming update due out this week. The update is geared towards fixing several bugs discovered since the game’s launch on Nov. 10. Just recently, the developer released a beta version of the update which is currently available for PC only.

PC players of “Fallout 4” are now subjected to testing the beta patch for the upcoming update and things are looking good so far. The patch is currently available for those who have a copy of the game on Steam. The beta update 1.2.33 is fully detailed on the official Steam page of “Fallout 4.” Oddly enough, there are several bugs and glitches not tackled in the update including the infinite cap glitch.

New Features

  • Number pad keys can now be used for remapping
  • Remapping Activate now works on Quick Container

Fixes

  • General memory and stability improvements
  • Fixed issue where equipped weapons become locked after completing Reunions
  • Fixed issue with When Freedom Calls where the quest would not complete
  • During Confidence Man, fixed issue where player's health would continuously regenerate
  • Fixed crash related to jumping into water and reloading saved games
  • Fixed issue where Launcher would not save God Rays Quality setting properly

Since the update is still in the beta version, Bethesda warns that players should be cautious in using it. As such, players should back up their saves just in case the update manages to corrupt the data. Bethesda has also provided a step-by-step process on how to use the beta patch.

  1. Log into Steam
  2. Right Click on Fallout 4 in your Library
  3. Select Settings
  4. Select Betas
  5. A drop down menu will appear. Select Beta Update
  6. Select OK.
  7. Wait a few minutes and Fallout 4 should update.
  8. When done, Fallout 4 should appear as Fallout 4 [beta] in your Library

Players who don’t want to try the beta update should just redo steps 1-4. If they do want to try out the beta and have concerns or issues to point out, Bethesda has welcomed players into their official forum.
