Miss World 2014's finale is just days away, and betting odds have already come into play. Miss South Africa, Rolene Strauss, has emerged as the betting favourite.

Six different bookmakers on NicerOdds have given Strauss the topmost place, and it has led to predictions that she may win this year's crown. The 22-year-old stunner is a medical student. She will be representing her country in both Miss World and Miss Universe pageants. She attributes her success to her family. According to Miss World.com, she thinks it is her mother who has taught her the "power of mind," and from her brother she has learned the virtue of patience and compassion. The brunette beauty aims to establish a business focused on women's health. Strauss is a golf enthusiast and loves to play outdoor games such as netball. She also has a flair for music and can play the flute, the piano and the guitar with aplomb. Strauss was crowned the winner on the reality show, "Road to Miss SA," which was hosted by Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp.

"It would have to be the day I bungee jumped off Bloukrans Bridge; officially recognised as the world's highest commercial Bungee jump. It made me reconsider everything in my life," Strauss told Miss World, when asked about her most memorable moment.

Strauss is 177 cm tall. She loves indulging in meals cooked by her mother. Her favourite dishes are oxtail and stampmielies. For the World Designer competition, Strauss wore the mint green gown by Casper Bosma. It features 13,000 Swarovski crystals and had intricate pearl and sequin embroidery. It was cut in mermaid style.

Bosma also designed her formal evening wear. It's a blush pink, off-shoulder gown, with a sweetheart neckline and silk organza strip details around the body.

Miss South Africa is closely followed by Miss India, Koyal Rana. She has already won the World Designer Fashion Award and is considered as a contestant to watch out for. Miss Australia, Courtney Thorpe, is the third favourite.

Miss World 2014 final will take place on Dec. 14 in London. The reigning Miss World Megan Young will crown the winner. The pageant will air on E.
