Miss World 2014 winner is Miss South Africa, Rolene Strauss. The last year's winner from Philippines, Miss World 2013, Megan Young, crowned the 22-year-old gorgeous beauty from South Africa at the spectacular coronation ceremony held on Sunday, Dec. 14 at ExCel London.

Rolene was a hot favourite to win this year's Miss World beauty pageant. Her answer to the final question of the event, which began on Nov. 20, left no one in doubt that Miss South Africa is 2014 Miss World. In her answer to the question, which was asked to all the five finalists, "Why do you think that you should be the next Miss World 2014?," Rolene said that she would be proud to represent the organisation, which "is a beacon of hope to the world"

For the coronation ceremony, Rolene wore a blush pink gown designed by Casper Bosman. The highlight of the off-shoulder gown, which the designer said in one of the interviews that it is inspired by blush pink rose, a frilled bottom in 45 meters of hand-dyed silk organza.

Here is a brief profile of the Miss World 2014 winner, Rolene: She is a fourth year medical student. She wants to establish a business that focuses on women's health. Rolene has always wanted to get into the field of medicine, as she is deeply inspired by her father, who is a doctor. As a child she was known as Little Dr. Strauss. Along with her medicine degree, she also wants to do MBA. She loves spending her holidays in Hartenbos, according to Oprah Mag.

"Miss South Africa is all about giving, and that's why I entered the competition. South Africa is my pride. I am who I am because of our country and the opportunities she has given me. It is now time to start giving back," she said when asked the reason behind her participation in the beauty pageant.

The multi-talented Rolene loves to play golf and netbal and she also loves to go cycling and read books. Apart from focusing on her career, she loves to pursue music in her free time. She can play flute, guitar and piano, with aplomb, according to Miss World's official site. She may have to give her interests a rest for a while, as she will be travelling for a year and will be fulfilling her charitable duties as the new Miss World.

The second runner-up of Miss World 2014 pageant is Miss United States, Elizabeth Safrit, while Miss Hungary, Edina Kulcsar, was crowned the first runner-up. The other two beauties who made to the top 5 are Miss England and Miss Australia.
