Miss World 2014 Reveals Top 10 Contestants For 'Beauty With A Purpose' Challenge
Ahead of the Miss World 2014 beauty pageant's final round, the top 10 contestants for the "Beauty With A Purpose" challenge were revealed. The names of the contestants were announced at the Miss World Charity Gala and Auction in London. The organisers revealed the top 5 beauties' names with their videos and later announced the names of the other five contestants. The top 10 contestants are from India, Brazil, Indonesia, Kenya, Guyana, Philippines, Bolivia, South Africa, Netherlands and England.
The winner of the "Beauty With A Purpose" challenge will be announced in Miss World 2014's finale round, which is set to take place on Dec. 14, 2014. After being selected in the Top 10, Miss England Carina Tyrrell took to her Facebook page to share her excitement.
"It is amazing that ladies from all around the world are working hard on exceptional projects and embracing BWP. The atmosphere last night was one of solidarity, determination and hope. A very special evening," she wrote on her Facebook page.
The contestants will also be competing for other categories including Beach Fashion, Sports and Fitness, Talent Competition, the World Fashion Designer Award and more. Meanwhile, during the Charity Gala, Miss World 1953 Denise Perrier donated her trophy. It was sold off for 30,000 British pounds in the auction, as reported by Miss World.com.
In other news, Miss India won the World Designer Fashion Award. She wore a beautiful gold gown created by Falguni and Shane Peacock. Miss Scotland bagged second place and Miss Dominician Republic placed third.
Miss World 2014 grand finale will take place at ExCeL London in London. A total of 124 beautiful ladies from all over the world will compete for the crown. 2013 Miss World Megan Young of the Philippines will crown her successor at the end of the event.
