Megan Young wore the crown after surpassing 126 talented contestants from across the globe. The event held at the Bali International Convention Centre in Indonesia was a smash hit amidst protests by the extremists group.

Miss France bagged the runner-up prize, while Miss Ghana finished at the third spot.

The top 5 finalists at the 63rd Miss World contests were Miss France, Miss Philippines, Miss Brazil, Miss Spain and Miss Ghana.

The 6th contestant Miss Gibraltar was chosen as the People's Choice.

Megan looked a stunner in a floor-length mermaid style skin colour gown, and she smiled as Wenxia crowned her Miss World 2013. She also won the Top Model award this year at the event.

The Filipina beauty is a huge Harry Potter fan and loves playing video games whenever she is free. Megan is an accomplished actress in Philippines and has worked in films and television shows as a presenter. It is her ardent desire to become a director one day.

In the final round, each contestant was asked that why they deserved to win the Miss World crown. Megan Young replied, "I will use my core values in my understanding, not only helping others but to show other people how they can understand others and together as one we shall help society," according to International Business Times India.

The international press also predicted that she is one of the hottest contenders who can become this year's Miss World.
