Ashley Park has won the Miss Asia USA 2016 title as well as the Miss Korea USA 2015 in the Miss Asia USA Cultural Pageant. In an exclusive interview with International Business Times, Australia Park spoke about her success and her focus on her acting career.

Talking about her journey to winning the Miss Korea title, Park said that she was actually scouted by a former contestant at a gym. “I was very hesitant to become a delegate, since being named Miss Korea USA by Virgelia Productions, Inc. leads to competing in Miss Asia USA. Knowing this widely publicized pageant would be my very first, I wasn’t sure I was up for it,” Park said.

Despite her initial hesitation, Park later accepted the offer. “I worked very hard this year to prepare for the pageant, and I was fortunate enough to recently win the title of Miss Asia USA. I had a lot of help from an incredible team of people,” she said.

Park may like wining beauty pageants, but what makes her “happier than anything else in the world” is being on a movie set. The actress was previously a cast member of the popular TV series “Days of Our Lives,” in which she played Diane. Since then, she has been a part of many movie and TV projects and her latest film is “All American Bikini Car Wash.”

“I am preparing to shoot the desert sci-fi film ‘Trapdoor’ in late January. Every set is a different experience, and I have found that I leave every set with amazing memories!”

The actress has taken up projects in diverse genre and one of her forthcoming movies is the Sci-fi, action film “Rogue Warrior: Robot Fighter,” in which she plays a character called Rhianna. The movie “depicts the overthrow of humanity by Artificial Intelligence, and is essentially a character-driven story about survival and self-discovery.”

The movie has been filmed in some of the same iconic locations as the ones used for “Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi.” Park describes her character in the movie as a “fighter and survivor.” “She is intelligent, perceptive and strong. I’m excited to see all of the wonderful characters in the script come to life!”

Apart from her acting career, Park has also tried her hand as a producer. However, she describes herself as “first and foremost” an actress. “I am actually preparing to produce another project very soon! It’s a web series that is currently in pre-production. While acting comes first for me personally, I believe that the two walk hand in hand. I definitely plan to focus on both.”
