These days, Miley Cyrus can be seen using her fame to promote awareness on social causes such as the unequal rights of LGBT youth and homelessness. She just launched her Happy Hippie Foundation. Asked why she thought of this foundation, she shared that the noble project is the result of her having seen the discrepancy between her privileged life and the lives of the people she is seeking to help.

Miley Cyrus is continuing to make waves with her eccentric behaviour — especially after she posed nude with her pet pig on the cover of Paper Magazine. Recently though, she is making the news for her staunch support for LGBT rights and the promotion of homelessness issue awareness.

In her Paper magazine interview, she clarified that the foundation was established after she saw how much help the LGBT community and homeless people need. She said that a lot of people are turning a blind eye to the plight of those who does not have place to stay and feel safe in. She said living her own privileged life while others are doing without the basics made her think she needs to do something for them. "“I can’t drive by in my f*cking Porsche and not fucking do something. I see it all day: people in their Bentleys and their Rolls and their Ubers, driving past these vets who have fought for our country, or these young women who have been raped,” she shared.

She also recounted how bad she suddenly felt when she realised how lucky she is to be able to do whatever she wants but others cannot. She said she was doing a show with her "tits out, dressed like a butterfly,” and realised how unfair life can be for others. She said she is just so lucky. As such, she is using her luck to help others and stop doing what most people are doing: ignoring these problems.

On the same interview, she shared how she came out to her mother about being a bisexual and how lucky she is that her mom eventually accepted her, despite some qualms with the fact initially. Apart from constantly promoting her foundation, Miley is also recently observed being vocal about her admiration and respect for LGBT people, Caitlyn Jenner especially.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Miley recently released a very telling Instagram post that there would be a possible collaboration between her and Caitlyn Jenner soon for Happy Hippie Foundation.
