Miley Cyrus and her camp decided not to push through with the showing of her porn film on the NYC Porn festival. After all the shocked reports of her joining the festival with a raunchy film, her representatives pulled out the entry from the Bushwick event and its website.

NY Post reported that the representatives of the “Wrecking Ball” singer already asked the festival organiser Simon Leahy to remove the film from the lineup, the request of which was quickly granted on Tuesday night. The representatives also said that the film was not supposed to be submitted in the first place; instead, the production company Cadence Films was just misled to grant permission to use it. According to Miley Cyrus’ representatives, the festival organiser had lie when he said Miley herself personally submitted the film, making Cadence Films give its permission. The short movie, entitled “Tongue Tied,” is an erotic movie that runs for around three minutes. It premiered last year in Nowness.

Miley’s rep said that although the artist was happy to have corroborated with acclaimed filmmaker Quentin Jones for this short film, she did not have a hand on this submission or even asked anyone to submit it for her. “She did not instigate this festival submission and is not participating in any way,” a spokesperson for the “Adore You” singer shared.

Leahy told the Post Tuesday night that he immediately complied with the takedown request and removed a Facebook post bragging “We got Miley!” because he realised there was a mistake. He said because the media saw the word “porn” and “Miley’s” name, they were quick to make issues regarding the story. He said the media sensationalised the story, causing fans of Miley to freak out. Because the word porn is involved, basically the media has just sensationalized it and turned it into a click bait story,” he explained.

The organizer also defended the festival. He said that the festival may have the word “porn” in it, it is no way some “cheap L.A. porn award festival.” Still, one of the festival’s sponsors is renowned porn site, PornHub. The festival would run from Feb 27 to March 1 at Secret Project Robot.
