The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 might be launched on Oct. 4, which is only in less than a couple of months. According to the rumour mill, the upcoming next generation tablet will be such a major upgrade from its predecessor unit, the Surface Pro 3.

To date, however, Microsoft has managed to keep mum about any specific details regarding the device. Thankfully for those who have long been waiting for an update on the subject, Tom Warren, the Senior Editor of The Verge and Founder of WinRumors, the Surface Pro 4 will be featuring a bigger display, as well as a lighter and thinner build. Plus, based on Warren's posts on Twitter, it would appear that the tablet will not be packing Intel Core M chipsets.

Warren confirmed that it is "not likely" that the tablet will feature a Type-C USB connector. That said, the Surface Pro 4 will be launched with a USB 3.0 and USB 3.1 ports - a feature that may be disappointing for many avid Microsoft tablet users.

The Surface Pro 4 will also have two display variants, according to reports. As mentioned in Tech Times, one will have a 12-inch screen, while the second one will sport a much larger 14-inch screen display. Furthermore, multiple online outlets have also indicated that the tablet will sport a Skylace chip, a few storage configurations - which can reach up to 1 TB - a much improved battery performance, and several RAM configurations that can reach up to 16 GB. Now that the Windows 10 is out, it is expected that the Surface Pro 4 will come out running on the latest OS.

As of the moment, however, Microsoft has neither confirmed nor denied the speculations. Considering that everything remains to be rumours at this point, it is highly possible that all leaked details will turn out to be false.
