Apple is allegedly preparing to introduce the 2016 MacBook Air, this fall. The 2016 model will reportedly be better than the existing model, which the company had launched in October last year, according to reports.

According to Master Herald, sufficient details on the 2016 MacBook Air is not available but as per unconfirmed reports, it will be better than its predecessor. It is expected that Apple could launch the 2016 version of MacBook Air during the third quarter of the year, as the company is known for unveiling its products during that period, as per the Master Herald report.

As per a report on Inquisitr, Critics are referring the new device as the ‘2016 MacBook Air’ but nobody knows its name. The current model of MacBook Air featured a 1440 x 900-pixel resolution and was available with an option for 128 GB or 256 GB internal storage, reports Master Herald. The publication also mentioned that the 13-inch laptop has been criticized for its limited upgrades.

According to the Inquisitr report, Microsoft’s Surface Pro 4 is expected to be available by the time the new MacBook Air is released. As per unconfirmed reports, Surface Pro 4 will sport a digital screen for pen input just like the Surface Pro 3 and this would be an advantage for Surface Pro over the MacBook Air. The new Surface Pro 4 may be launched with Windows 10 on July 29 and it is quite possible that the iPad Pro could be the device Apple is planning to position against the Surface Pro 4, reports Inquisitr.

According to Apple Insider via Inquisitr, the iPad Pro could feature a 2,732 x 2,048 pixel resolution Retina display that will roughly have the same resolution as the iPad Air 2. As the new iPad Pro is expected to come with a digital pen, it is believed that Apple would position iPad Pro and not the new MacBook Air against the Surface Pro, reports Inquisitr.
