Microsoft is rumoured to release couple of new Lumia devices very soon such as the Lumia 940, the Lumia 940 XL, the Lumia 840 and the Lumia 740 XL. The rumour mill is currently silent on the Lumia 740 XL but a lot is being said about the other purported Lumia devices.

According to a fresh report from Nokia Power User (NPU), a new device has been spotted in Zauba data. NPU speculates that the new Zauba entry belongs to the upcoming Lumia 840 device. The listing shows the INR value of the device through which it can be known that it is a upper mid-range device. The mysterious device will come with Dual-SIM support. As of this writing, none of the upper mid-range Lumia devices are available with Dual-SIM support.

On another post, NPU has also published an alleged image of the Lumia 840, a device that is expected to replace the Lumia 830 that was unveiled in September 2014 alongside the Lumia 730 at the IFA 2014 event. Rumours are rife that Microsoft is in plans to discontinue the Lumia 830 device. According to the NPU report, the Redmond will not be refreshing the stocks of the Lumia 830 that are currently available in the stores. The Lumia 840 is expected to release in few months. It will come preloaded with the Windows Phone 8.1 GDR Update 2. The Lumia 840 is expected to come with better features than the Lumia 830.

Even though the Lumia 830 was also rolled out as an upper mid-range device, it disappointed the audience and critics because it was powered with the low-end Snapdragon 400 chipset. The same chipset is also available on the Lumia 730. Although the Lumia 830 came with a decent 10 MP camera, it again disappointed Lumia fans by coming with a low-end 0.9 MP camera. The Lumia 730 is fitted with a 5 MP selfie camera.

So, the Lumia 840 is predicted to feature a better 13 to 14 MP camera along with 5 MP selfie camera. Like the predecessor, it will also house a 5-inch screen. However, instead of coming with an HD screen, the Lumia 830 successor is pegged to come with a 5-inch full HD display.
