Only recently, there was a report stating that Microsoft is working on a successor to the well-received Lumia 1020 camera phone. Arguably, it is one of the best smartphones in the world with a killer camera unit. But then, the name of the successor has not been made official yet and hence the moniker Lumia 1030 is a speculated name. Nevertheless, ITHome from China has come up with concept design of the upcoming Lumia 1030 smartphone.

The Windows 10-powered Microsoft Lumia 1030 concept design shows the device as a high-end handset. As readers might have guessed, the Windows 10 OS will become official only towards the mid or late 2015. Furthermore, the rumoured Lumia 1030 smartphone will feature a 5.8-inch display complemented by a Quad HD resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels. On the contrary, the Lumia 1020 comes with a 4.5-inch display bundled with 768 x 1,280 pixels resolution, according to Phone Arena.

When it comes to camera configuration, the Lumia 1030 will reportedly sport a whopping 41 MP PureView camera with LED flash, in addition to Xenon flashes. The secondary unit, on the other hand, will feature a surprisingly good 8.7 MP snapper. Needless to say, this configuration, if it comes true, will be selfie lovers' dream device.

Under the hood, the handset is proposed to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor and will be backed by a solid 3 GB of RAM. As far as the memory goes, the smartphone will come equipped with 32 GB and 64 GB of in-built storage choices. Completing this device is a killer 4,300 mAh battery unit. On the flipside, the concept renders do not look thinner when compared to many other devices released thus far in 2014. However, as a silver lining, the bezels surrounding the screen are significantly less and hence it gives a clean-cut look.

Interested readers can check out the concept renders of the yet-to-be-official Microsoft Lumia 1030 from Phone Arena. Moreover, a video has also been released by the source and readers can check out the same from the slideshow attached in the aforementioned link.

What do you think of the Microsoft Lumia 1030? Technically, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 SoC and 3 GB of RAM configurations are already part of many smartphones released in 2014. Therefore, will it be too late for Microsoft to catch up, when the Lumia handset releases next year? Feel free to leave a comment.
