Michael Schumacher has remained in comatose condition after 23 weeks since he suffered a head injury in a skiing accident in French ski resort last December.

With no updates coming from the German driver's camp for the past several weeks, former Formula One doctor Gary Hartstein feared Schumacher's health might be deteriorating, warning fans not to expect any good news on the F1 legend.

Hartstein wrote his blog about his view on Schumacher's condition and the news blackout implemented by his family. The F1 doctor said there's no possible reason behind Schumacher family's reason not to issue a press release about his condition, but to believe the driver is not in good shape.

"I'm quite afraid (and virtually certain) we will never have any good news about Michael. At this point, I rather dread seeing that the family has put out a press release," Hartstein stated in his blog.

"I can conceive of no possible reason that Michael's entourage, understandably extremely protective of his and their privacy, would not tell his fans if significantly good things have happened," he added.

Sabine Kehm, who has been the spokesperson and manager for Schumacher, has not released a statement about the health of the Ferrari driver since the 4th of April, when he issued a press release that detailed Schumacher having 'moments of consciousness and awakening.'

"Michael is making progress on his way. He shows moments of consciousness and awakening. We are on his side during his long and difficult fight, together with the team of the hospital in Grenoble, and we keep remaining confident."

Despite the criticisms, Kehm has remained firm in his stance not to release more information with regards to the condition of his client, as she stressed family privacy should be prioritized before anything else.

"Michael Schumacher is in a coma and cannot decide what is reported about him. We, of course, know how he deals with such things and try in his interest to handle these matters for him. Since these statements there has been no news. This is the longest period of silence since the accident," Kehm said in his statement.
