At IFA 2014 event, Lenovo demonstrated several upcoming devices that are impressive and unique. The Lenovo Vibe X2 smartphone is one of them. This handset comes with impressive features and one-of-a-kind design, along with an affordable price tag.

The Lenovo Vibe X2 comes with a unique multi-layer exterior design. Meaning, the handset's metallic construction looks as though many differently coloured layers of metal are affixed together to get the 7.3 mm thickness, when looked from the side. Moreover, Lenovo has also said that it will provide two proprietary snap-on layers/covers in addition to the existing ones. These additional layers are dubbed as VIBE Xtension smart layers. One such layer has the capability to increase the phone battery's capacity by 75%, while the other layer provides hi-fi JBL audio and a kickstand to hold the device. Adding cherry on top, both the add-on layers will protect the device from accidental drops, reports Phone Arena.

When it comes to key specifications, the Lenovo Vibe X2 features a 5-inch IPS LCD display complemented by 1,080 x 1,920 pixels screen resolution. This combination translates to a pixel density of an impressive 441 ppi. The handset is powered by a superior octa-core (MediaTek MT6595m) processor, clocked at 2.0 GHz and PowerVR G6200 for graphics. Moreover, the device is backed by a good 2 GB of RAM and it comes with 32 GB storage capacity. According to umpteen benchmark test scores, the MediaTek processors trail behind Qualcomm's Snapdragon SoCs. However, this particular MediaTek processor is quite impressive when compared to others, even with a heavy usage, opines the same site.

Furthermore, there is a solid 13 MP Sony sensor as the primary unit with LED flash, in addition to a surprisingly good 5 MP front-facing snapper for selfies. On battery configuration, the Vibe X2 comes equipped with a good 2300 mAh unit and it runs on Android v4.4 KitKat OS. Speaking of size, the device is very thin and light at 0.29-inch and 120 g, respectively.

As far as the price goes, the Lenovo Vibe X2 will set the buyers back by US$399. In addition, the company has manufactured an exclusive device for Indian customers with dual-SIM slots and this handset will debut towards the end of 2014.
