Upcoming HTC Desire 820 Mini smartphone was spotted in TENAA, the FCC-equivalent in China. In addition, HTC showcased the Mini device in its web store specific to China and hence the key features are disclosed.

The HTC Desire 820 Mini is a budget-friendly device that comes with a 5-inch display. The specifications listed in TENAA points to a dimension of 150.1 x 72.7 x 9.6 mm and a weight of 162 g. Meaning, the handset is bigger and lengthier than the 5.2-inch LG G2 and many other smartphones. Also, the device goes by the name HTC D820mu in China, according to GSM Arena.

HTC's Mini handset comes with front-facing stereo speakers similar to the bigger Desire 820 released recently. The 5-inch screen is complemented by a 720p resolution and 294 ppi pixel density. Moving on to the camera specification, the device sports a 5 MP front-facing snapper for selfies and an 8 MP rear-facing camera unit. The handset is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz and it is backed by 1 GB of RAM. The processor will most likely be either one of Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 or a MediaTek chipset, opines Android Headlines. The Desire 820 Mini runs on Android v4.4.4 KitKat OS with HTC's Sense UI on top of it. Speaking of memory, the handset comes equipped with 8 GB of internal storage capacity with microSD card support for expansion.

Apart from the standard connectivity options, the HTC handset supports 3G and 4G LTE pertaining to both Chinese and international networks. Moreover, it is a dual-SIM handset. When it comes to price, the Desire 820 Mini is priced at CNY 1,400 in China that roughly translates to US$228 and AU$259.

Notably, the pricing might prove to be detrimental to HTC predominantly because devices from Xiaomi are getting discounted owing to the heavy competition from Oppo, Meizu and OnePlus handsets. These handsets boast better specs and bigger displays, along with wallet-friendly price tags.
