The amazing host Kevin Hart brought on the laughter during the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards. In between him, the stellar guest performances and the star-crowded audience, the awards show gave plenty of moments that will definitely be remembered whether it is a good or a bad one.

The host of the ceremony Kevin Hart controversially entered the awards show with his little security, literally. Though it is not certain if the bunch of little people can protect the host, however, they made Hart look very tall.

Meanwhile, singer Rihanna stunned the crowd at the MTV Video Music Awards Thursday night with her shocking pixie hairdo that she exposed on the red carpet. The 24-year old Barbados beauty also gave a seductive opening performance as she donned a red headband during her high-octane performance of "Cockiness (Love It)" and "We Found Love" at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

A moment of "Who do you think wore it better?" surfaced when Miley Cyrus introduced the next performer, Pink, who gave a performance way beyond fantastic. The duo is both sporting the platinum Mohawk hairstyle.

There is also a room of surprises in the MTV Video Music Awards and Frank Ocean provided one. No one ever thought that Frank Ocean can really sing as the guy took on the stage and without any flashy props or loud instrumentals but he was able to show his vocal range while serenading the audience with "Thinking About You" that most probably left the crowd's ears wanting for more.

The awards show also became a comeback night for beautiful singer Alicia Keys who is also rocking a new and short hairdo. The Grammy Award-winning singer performed her latest single "Girl on Fire" featuring Nicki Minaj and their performance also included some stunning gymnastics by the gold medal winner Gabby Douglas.

By the end of the night, Rihanna took the crown and reigned at the event since she was the big winner for the "Video of the Year" award with her hit single "We Found Love."
