Meizu, one of the popular smartphone brands in China, is expected to announce the Meizu MX6 in March this year, following last year's June launch of the Meizu MX5, which has been well-received by both customers and critics.

The Chinese firm has started sending invitations for an unveil event, where it is expected to announce the purported Meizu MX6 early in March 2016, Gizmo China reported.

According to International Business Times, the Meizu MX6 will be one of the major rivals of the Xiaomi Mi 5. Like its competitor, it will be coming with a premium build. The Meizu MX6 is also expected to sport ultra-thin bezels. Its edges will feature a metallic frame, and its chassis is rumoured to house glass on the rear and front panels.

The Meizu MX6 specifications and features were recently spotted on AnTuTu. Even though the AnTuTu listing is currently unavailable, its details have been already reported by various tech portals. One of the most striking Meizu MX6 features is that it will be coming with Helio X20 chipset from MediaTek.

The Helio X20 SoC features a 10-core processor and Mali-T880 MP4 graphics. The MediaTek chipset can rival the latest Snapdragon 820 chipset from Qualcomm and Eyxnos 8890 chipset from Samsung. The Xiaomi Mi 5 will be coming with Snapdragon 820 whereas the Galaxy S7 is expected to be available in SD 820 and Exynos 8890 CPU variants.

The Meizu MX6 is speculated to feature a full HD display. It may arrive in different RAM variants such as 4 GB of RAM edition feature 64 GB of storage and 3 GB RAM version featuring 32 GB of storage. Other specs include 20.7 MP and 8 MP rear and front cameras, Android 6.0 with Flyme Ui and 4000 mAh battery, Android Headlines reported.
