Meghan Trainor cannot stand the term “plus-sized.” She also cannot stand people "checking out her body" just because she launched her career by emphasizing she is a "little bigger" than other women.

In an interview with Today during a launch party for the online fashion retailer, FullBeauty.com, Trainor shared that she never liked the word “plus-sized.” Instead, she loves the word “full-figured” better because she loves the idea of loving one's curves . "Because when I looked it up, like a 6 is apparently a plus size! I don’t agree with that,” she explained.

She also said that despite loving her body and being confident of who she is, she hates it when people focus on her body. She explained that some people came up to her to tell her they checked her out because she was confident enough about coming out to the world as a “little bigger.” “The only thing I really don’t like is when people say, I definitely checked you out because you came out to the world saying, ‘Look, I’m a little bigger,’” she said. She explained she does not like people's scrutiny of her body makes her uncomfortable.

Still, this does not mean she likes her body any less. She even gave an advice to girls who are struggling with their weight. She asks these girls with such predicament to start loving themselves. She assured them that it would only get better when they start learning about their body and then learning to love themselves. She said she personally started to love her body only recently. She did not love her body overnight as it is something she struggled with “for a long time.” However, she personally experienced things getting better once she accepted her body and learned to love it.

In another news, even though her intention behind all her songs is to empower all types of women, her new song “Dear Future Husband” is said to have come out quite “sexist.” Considering she kickstarted her career with the empowering song “All About That Bass,” calling for girls to love themselves, despite their body sizes, Trainor is now surprised that there is a backlash on her most recent music video. Released on March 16, many said the video for “Dear Future Husband” seems to be implying that women or wives, should be staying at home scrubbing floors or cooking. These are the activities Trainor is engaged in on the video as she portrays being a wife.

Trainor defended herself saying she did not imply anything on the video or being sexist. She explained the song was just something she wrote for her own “future husband out there.”
