Stephen Lock, the McDonald’s shooter, who shot his ex-wife Karina to death on Thursday at a McDonald’s restaurant, died in the hospital on Friday. The man shot himself in his stomach after shooting his wife at the Gold Coast’s Macca’s branch of the restaurant. He was immediately taken to the Gold Coast University Local Hospital where he died due to the self-inflicted injury.

A terrifying case of domestic violence was witnessed on Thursday when Lock shot his wife in the dining area of the fast food centre. The woman died on the spot. The ex-couple met in the carpark of McDonald’s on Thursday, when the tragedy took place. One of the witnesses said that both Locks were inside a blue Ford Mondeo before the woman ran into the restaurant and begged for help.

“He put his arm around her upper body and shot her. I was maybe four metres away. Then he knelt over the top of her and put the gun to his head and shot himself,” the witness, Peter, told Fairfax Media.

The family members started using social media to pay tribute to the pair. Lock’s brother, Craig, said he was sad for the loss of life of “a beautiful lady and a brother who lost his way.”

Craig added that the children would never be able forget this tragic incident. He stated that he himself is completely devastated. He held God responsible for leading to such a cruel act on Thursday. He mentioned that the Locks lived together at Maryborough and Karina shifted to Gold Coast recently, according to the Brisbane Times.
