If there’s one thing gamers across all platforms can agree upon, it’s their love for a good franchise sale. With May 4, “Star Wars Day” just around the corner, and the recent “Star Wars Celebration 2015” having just concluded, there’s never been a better time for a “Star Wars” franchise sale.

Sony, Microsoft and Valve have taken it upon themselves to slash prices on a huge range of “Star Wars” related products across Steam, PSN and Xbox Live. While not every single game on offer is a bona fide classic, there are several treasured titles available, including the likes of “X-Wing vs TIE Fighter,” “Star Wars Republic Commando,” “Star Wars Bounty Hunter” and a number of “Lego Star Wars” games.

The pick of the sales, as one might expect comes via Steam, which offers up to 77 percent off on its “Star Wars Collection.” The bundle includes a whopping 14 titles and is priced at just $23. Meanwhile, the rest of the sale includes a range of absolute all-time classics, including all four games in the “X-Wing” series and the entire collection of “Jedi Knight” games.

The Steam “Star Wars” collection also offers titles like “Star Wars Republic Commando,” an overlooked squad-based shooter fans love for its in-game squad banter and fun set pieces. Also on offer are the very highly regarded “Knights of the Old Republic” games by Mass Effect developer, BioWare. Fans looking for newer, more action-oriented take on the “Star Wars” universe need look no further than both entries in the “Force Unleashed” series, which tells a tale of betrayal and revenge from the point of view of a powerful Sith apprentice.

The announcement of the Xbox-centric “Star Wars” deals comes via Major Nelson’s Blog, which sees titles such as both “LEGO Star Wars” titles, “The Force Unleashed” games, a trio of “Star Wars Pinball” games, and “Angry Birds Star Wars” discounted by up to 80 percent. The PlayStation Blog reports that fans get to choose from just four PSN classic titles, discounted by 25 percent. Two of those titles, “Star Wars Starfighter” and “Star Wars Bounty Hunter” are likely to spark nostalgia in long-time PlayStation fans, the former being one of the first titles to launch on PS2, and the latter being a surprisingly fun third-person actioner starring Jango Fett.

The sales follow the recent reveal of the first gameplay trailer for DICE and EA’s “Star Wars Battlefront,” a reboot of sorts which will be released some time during Holiday 2015. The game will be released on Xbox One, PC and PS4, and will feature a post-launch downloadable map pack, called “The Battle of Jakku,” which ties in with the upcoming film.
