Members of the Xbox One preview program have another feature to check out apart from the Xbox One May System Update. Microsoft has already released the Xbox One Wireless Display App to preview members, with instructions on how to get and use it.

DualShockers spotted the announcement and obtained a statement on how to properly get started with the app. Basically, the new feature lets Xbox One users to mirror the contents of their favorite devices to their TV sets via the Xbox One. This is possible with the use of Miracast and devices that already support the service.

The Xbox One Wireless Display app can be accessed via the “Extend your screen” quest in the Xbox Store page. The feature can be used after downloading and launching. The new app is easy to use. Xbox One users only need to use the device interface to project the screen after selecting the Xbox name.

Since the Xbox One Wireless Display app is still only out for preview program members, there may still be bugs or issues when using it. Microsoft does invite preview members to report the problems that will be encountered. The app does require the latest update for the Xbox One.

So far, the source cites quite a few issues that have already been seen. Among these include the lack of support for premium content projection due to protected content, select devices with HDCP protection being unable to project and lack of Miracast support for iOS devices.

Apart from the new Xbox One Wireless Display app, an existing app on the Xbox One is getting a new feature. Business Wire reports that Time Warner Cable has added a live TV option to the TWC TV app on the Xbox One. The addition brings 300 live TV channels and 8,000 free and subscription Video on Demand titles. It comes as a free addition to the Xbox One TWC TV app, though it is currently only available in the U.S.

These new additions come at an opportune time alongside the new features previously announced for the Xbox One May System Update. VG 24/7 reported earlier that some of the new features that preview members can explore include voice messages in party and multitasking.
