Residents of the nearby towns described as "surreal and dramatic" the images of the multiple explosions that rocked the areas in Blue Rhino, Tavares, Florida, on Monday night, June 29. Big blasts rocked the area when large propane tanks exploded at a gas plant in Blue Rhino that left seven people hurt. All workers who punched in for night shift have reportedly been accounted for.

As seen in countless photos being posted online following the incident, the big blasts sent humungous flames and smoke in the sky when propane tanks exploded at a plant located at the 300 block of County Road 448 at Blue Rhino in Tavares, Fla. Several residential areas have also been affected by the explosions.

This prompted authorities to order half-mile evacuation of the area until fire is taken out and the civilians are safe and secured to go back to their homes. An estimated 50 households were affected by the evacuation order released by the Lake County top officials.

Multiple injuries have been reported and workers have been rushed to the nearby hospital. Authorities created a massive response emergency team to assist more victims of the multiple explosions. Still more workers believe to be missing at 6:00 GMT.

Despite assertion made by the plant management that workers have all been accounted for, two hours after the blast, other reports claim that some of the 26 workers who were reported at work at the time of the blast could still be missing and seriously injured.

"Plant management is comfortable saying they are accounted for," Lake County Office spokesman Lt. John Herrell said, according to Wesh.com.

Mr Herrell confirmed at a conference held early Tuesday that 15 workers are still missing. Fire officials claim that there are approximately 24 to 26 people working at the gas plant at the time the fire broke out that later led to multiple explosions.

ABC News reported that the Orlando Regional Medical Center are treating three male patients for burns. The said patients are listed at critical conditions.

Residents from the nearby town described the incident as horrifying and the humungous fire and smoke can be seen from miles away.

“You could definitely see the fire from across the lake. It was humungous even from seven miles away,” Ashley McCormick told ABC News over the phone. Ashley is a resident of Mount Dora, Fla.

She added, “You could hear the explosions just .. one after the other and then after it would explode, a fireball would shoot up into the sky.”

Another resident from Mount Dora, Blake Cottle told a local TV station, WFTV that the explosion lasted for about half an hour.

“I have heard tons of booms for at least 30 minutes,” Mr Cottle said, according to ABC News.

The Lake County office spokesman described the incident as “surreal.”

"It's very, very dramatic. It's surreal," Herrell said. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the families," Mr Herrell said.

Explosions began at about 23:00 (03:00 GMT) , said BBC News. It added that an estimated 4,000 to 5,000 tanks are refilled each day at the gas plant in Blue Rhino, Tavares, Fla.
