After mastering the art of storytelling in games like “The Walking Dead” and “Game of Thrones,” Telltale Games is about to tell one of its biggest ones yet. The developer of these incredibly successful adventure games have announced a collaborative project with Marvel, the home of super heroes like Spider-Man, Thor, Captain America and Iron Man.

The last few Marvel games have either been based on Lego games or have been mobile games for the iOS and Android. When asked by IGN about their plans, Marvel Games Executive Mike Jones simply stated that the company has been busy finding the right partner to represent the company’s video games in a positive light.

It should be noted that there hasn’t been an official console “Avengers” game, despite the fact that the franchise made a billion dollar movie. While “Lego Avengers” will be hitting consoles sometime this year, there hasn’t been a proper console Marvel game with the Marvel Studios characters since “Captain America: The First Avenger” was released by Sega.

"If it doesn't turn heads, if it doesn't get you excited to talk with your friends, it's not a Marvel game. It has to command attention." Said Mike Jones to Comic Book Resources.

Aside from the fact that the Telltale Marvel game will be coming out in 2017, not much detail has been announced regarding the game. Apparently the game series will be “exquisite” and “sexy” according to Polygon, but aside from that there hasn’t been any additional information released regarding this collaboration project between Telltale Games and Marvel.

That being said, this isn’t the first time Telltale Games have used comic book characters in their video games. The aforementioned “Walking Dead” games have proven to be popular, even gaining a second season, with a third one possibly on the way. “Fables: The Wolf Among Us,” which is based on an incredibly popular comic series from Vertigo, has also proven to be a huge success, gaining a spin-off comic under DC.

With “Avengers: Age of Ultron” coming out this week for Western viewers, it’s quite clear that Marvel is in an all time high. Screen Rant reported that the movie already debuted overseas and has made over $201.2 Million dollars, surpassing the first “Avengers” film by 44%.
