Actress Margot Robbie married her longtime boyfriend, Tom Ackerley, an assistant director in films including "Da Vinci’s Demons," "Pride," "MI-5" and "The Brothers Grimsby." They had a secret wedding on Dec. 18 at Byron Bay in New South Wales, Australia. The “Suicide Squad” actress confirmed her marriage to Ackerley after she posted a picture of her ring while she was kissing Tom on Instagram.

Report said that the ceremony was kept a secret and was attended by the couple's close family and friends. The wedding took place in Robbie’s home country.

The first official photos, which were taken by NewsCorp, showed Robbie wearing a cream, lace off-shoulder wedding dress. As seen in pictures, Robbie decided to forgo a veil and just wore loose curls.

Report said that the said occasion was closely guarded by the couple and was made to remain secret by Robbie, Ackerley and their respective families. Even the guests were not told immediately the location of their wedding. They were just asked to assemble at Byron Bay to the Gold Coast and were transported by buses to the main venue.

At the main event, all who attended were asked to hand in their mobile phones and cameras. The entire place was surrounded by guards so that the uninvited guests could not go in. The said ceremony started at 4PM. Around 50 guests gathered under a Teepee-style tent watching the couple exchange their vows.

Robbie and Ackerley met in 2013 on the set of the World War II drama, “Suite Francaise.” Tom was the third assistant director while Margot was one of the cast members together with Michelle Williams and Kristin Scott Thomas.

It has been an eventful 2016 for Robbie. She was part of different kinds of movies this year. One of which was when she starred in “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.” She was also part of “The Legend of Tarzan.” Just recently, she was part of the “Suicide Squad,” where she played as the Joker's lover, Harley Quinn. She also just received the Critics' Choice Award and was nominated for two People's Choice Awards.
