It may be three days after April Fool's Day, but scammers are still taking advantage of the continuous public interest on the ongoing search for the missing Malaysian Airlines Boeing 777 to earn money online.

Their latest scam is another hoax that the ill-fated Flight 370 aircraft has finally been found and the location is ... the Indian Ocean, where several planes and ships from different nations, and now even submarines, are searching for debris or any signs of the jet believed to have crashed near Perth.

To attract gullible netizens, creators of this news hoax used an image of a crashed jet on water to appear credible. However, the URL should be a good lead as to its dubious origin based on its name http://plane.sotrueshit.com.

Before being allowed to view the alleged footage of the discovery of the plane, the reader would be asked to share the video, which is a tool to fish for more online information.

On Tuesday, April Fool's Day, a similar scenario was spread in social media networks such as Facebook and Twitter, claiming the mysterious jet was found in the Bermuda Triangle, an area where several aircraft had previously disappeared.

With the plane missing for almost a month, Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott described the search as the most difficult in human history. But he vowed to continue looking for the Beijing-bound aircraft that had 239 people onboard, until the mystery is solved.

Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, who toured Australia's search headquarters at the Royal Australian Air Force Base Pearce in Perth, said the missing MH370 is the biggest mystery in aviation history with no clear clue until now as to its definite location.

Mr Abbott admitted, "We can't be certain of ultimate success in the search for MH370, but we can be certain that we will spare no effort, that we will not rest until we have done everything we humanly can."
