Multi-award winning actor Ben Affleck has released the first look photo from the set of his upcoming film “Live by Night,” in which he plays the role of an actor, director and script co-writer.

Affleck shared the teaser photo of himself and a young boy walking on a wooden pathway on his Instagram account on Wednesday. “First day. First shot. #livebynightmovie,” he captioned. The actor also posted the photo on his Twitter feed.

“Live by Night” is based on the award-winning crime novel by Dennis Lehane. The film follows the story of a group of individuals and their dealings in the world of organised crime. The story is set in the Prohibition Era.

The film stars Ben Affleck as Joe Coughlin, Sienna Miller as Emma Gould, Zoe Saldana as Graciella Suarez, Elle Fanning as Loretta Figgis and Chris Cooper as Chief Irvin Figgis.

Affleck has been busy filming different movies for Warner Bros lately. He just finished shooting “The Accountant” (2016), where he plays the role of a forensic accountant opposite Anna Kendrick. He will also star as Bruce Wayne/Batman in the films “The Suicide Squad,” (2016) “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” (2016) and “The Justice League” parts 1 (2017) and 2 (2019).

Affleck hopped into the director’s chair for the first time with his film “Gone Baby Gone” in 2007. With his first film, he won a Boston Society of Film Critics Award for Best New Filmmaker, a Hollywood Film Festival Award for Breakthrough Director of the year and a National Board of Review Award for Best Directorial Debut. He also went to direct “The Town” (2010) and “Argo” (2012), which won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award.

“Live by Night” still has no release date but is expected to hit theaters in 2017.
