Adele’s recently released new single titled “Hello” had some people commenting about being reminded of Lionel Richie’s 1983 released single with the same title. As a result, the Adele-Lionel Richie “Hello” mash-up video has been created and it went viral on social media sites like Instagram, YouTube and Twitter.

Lionel Richie, 66, has shared the hilarious “Hello” mash-up video as well as an image on Instagram. “HELLO @adele is it me you’re looking for.. #hello,” Richie posted as a caption to the shared image on his Instagram account lionelrichie. Click here to see photo.

In the hilarious “Hello” mash-up video, Richie calls and asks Adele if it is him she is looking for, but the 27-year-old British singer-songwriter just hangs up her flip phone. In BlendTV’s YouTube channel, the Adele-Lionel Richie mash-up video has already garnered over 3 million views.

Meanwhile, it seems that the comments on the similarity between Lionel Richie’s 1983 song and Adele’s new single has reached the “Rolling in the Deep” singer. The Telegraph reports that Adele has been a good sport even though people pointed out the resemblance on social media.

Adele told TV and radio presenter Nick Grimshaw on BBC Radio 1’s “Breakfast Show” that she would like to have a collaborative work with Lionel Richie. “We’ve definitely got to do something, me and Lionel,” Adele stated.

Adele even suggested that the two of them could hold a competitive “Hello-off.” Adele’s new single “Hello” has shown signs of success starting with breaking records for the number of views of her new music video.

At the moment, Adele’s “Hello” music video has already racked up over 99 million views on YouTube. The Guardian reports that the official music video of Adele’s new single has defeated Taylor Swift’s record for the most number of views on Vevo in one day.

Adele’s “Hello” music video gathered 27.7 million views during its first day online while the music video for Taylor Swift’s song titled “Bad Blood” only attracted 20.1 million viewers during its first 24 hours online. The single “Hello” is set to appear on Adele’s upcoming new album titled “25” which is scheduled to be released on Nov. 20.
