Lindsay Lohan and porn star James Deen star in "The Canyons," a movie that now has a trailer with dubstep-ish background music. It's directed by Paul Schrader (who wrote "Taxi Driver" and wrote/directed "American Gigolo"), with some help from writer Bret Easton Ellis.

The movie lands in theatres and on iTunes on Aug 2

The Canyons is an upcoming erotic thriller and stars Lindsay Lohan, James Deen, Nolan Gerard Funk, Amanda Brooks, Tenille Houston and Gus Van Sant.

"The Canyons" is a contemporary L.A. noir from director Paul Schrader, writer Bret Easton Ellis and producer Braxton Pope about the dangers of sexual obsession and ambition, both personally and professionally, among a group of young people in their 20s, and how one chance meeting connected to the past unravels all of their lives, resulting in deceit, paranoia, cruel mind games and ultimately violence.

The trailer presented audiences with a strange teaser that just showed various places throughout Hollywood, set to some enjoyable music.

Then it shows Grindhouse-styled teaser that showed the film's controversial starring duo, the exceptional Lindsay Lohan and adult film star James Deen.

With its latest trailer, The Canyons now seems to be highlighting the amount of melodrama it can offer to audiences. Rather entertainingly, it utilises strict and monotonous voiceovers to introduce Lohan, Deen and newcomer Nolan Funk.

The trailer also has graphics worthy of a 1950s monster movie to describe Lindsay Lohan as "a sensuous woman." Bizarre in the extreme still, there's something strangely hypnotic about the entire attempt, and porn star James Deen does seem to exude a sordid charisma.

The Canyons will open in the U.S. on Aug 2, 2013, with a UK date to be confirmed.

Hopefully, the rest of the film will show up. Enjoy the trailer for now.
