The LG G Pro 2 which was announced in February this year was supposed to be replaced by its successor model, the LG G Pro 3. Fresh rumours indicate that the South Korean tech giant will not be launching the LG G Pro 3, but rather it will be concentrating more on building and rolling out the LG G4.

The LG G Pro series consists of phablet devices like the LG Optimus G Pro which came out in 2013 and the LG G Pro 2 which was released this year. PhoneArena says that LG may not have any plans to continue with its phablet family. GforGames reveals that the mobile division of the firm is now headed by Juno Cho as the previous leader, Dr. Jong-Seok Park is not keeping well. It seems that one of the major decisions taken by the new leadership is the axing of the LG G Pro lineup in a bid to focus more on the LG G4.

The LG G Pro lineup was supposed to be a counterpart handset with bigger display screen based on the flagship device from LG. The LG G Pro 2 is a 5.9-inch phablet whereas the LG G3 is a 5.5-inch device and the older LG G2 is a 5.2-inch device. The size of the successive handsets of the LG G lineup has been consistently increasing.

Because of its size, the LG G3 is also being referred to as a phablet device. The unannounced LG G4 will come out with an even larger display. Since the two lineups are getting close in size, the LG G Pro lineup has been superseded by LG G series handsets. LG has not confirmed anything about killing the LG G Pro series devices.

GSMArena states that the LG G Pro phablets has failed to give any threat to the Samsung Galaxy Note series phablets and hence it has not managed to achieve impressive sales. GforGames claims that previous speculations about the LG G Pro 3 indicated that the phablet would come out in 2015 with LG's very own processor, NUCLUN CPU onboard. It further claims that the poor feedback of the in-house application CPU may have also compelled LG to kill the G Pro series handsets.
