The new Lexus GS F V8 sedan is set to hit the streets of Australia in February 2016. It is the latest addition to the F series of Lexus and is a subtle blend of beauty and performance.

The new Lexus model has a 351kW 5.0-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine, Active Sound Control (ASC), the Lexus Safety System+ and an 8-speed Sport Direct Shift (SPDS) transmission. The details of the price as well as the other specifications of the GS F will be announced at the time of its launch.

Emeritus chief engineer of GS F, Yukihiko Yaguchi, spoke about the luxury sedan in a Lexus press release.

"The sedan embraces the virtues of sound, response and limitless power feel to support Lexus' F brand identity of a performance car," Yaguchi said.

The Lexus GS F has a carbon-fibre rear spoiler for high-speed stability and improved downforce. The Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres (255/35ZR19 front, 275/35ZR19 rear) and the forged aluminum wheels lend a sporty look to the sedan. It has an evolved Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) SPORT mode. Its engine is 2UR-GSE with a 32-valve DOHC and Dual VVT-i valve mechanism (8 cylinders, V type).

Aside from these features, the GS F also has specially crafted undertrays that are fitted below the engine and midsection of the car. Plus, it has a Drive Mode Select control that offers NORMAL, ECO, SPORT S, SPORT S+ modes and a Torque Vectoring Differential (TVD) for enhanced traction control. It has three settings: Standard, Slalom and Track. The vehicle can also comfortably seat five people in its cabin.

Lexus Australia chief executive Sean Hanley highlighted the car's best features, saying, "This dynamic vehicle delivers accessible performance for all drivers, an unforgettable sound from its naturally aspirated V8 engine and a range of luxury and convenience features typical of a premium Lexus sedan."

Hanley also said that the GS F will be the second F model to be launched by Lexus in 12 months.
