“Legends of Tomorrow” has been teasing a lot of adventure that defies the boundaries of space and time – and much of these will be seen in the next episode titled “Raiders of the Lost Art.” While Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) struggles with his identity, the team goes through a lot just to bring him back to how he has been.

The group is finally reunited with their original captain, Rip Hunter, who has been gone for a long time. The trailer for season 2 episode 9 reveals that Rip will be back and it looks like he will be taking the group to an adventure that transcends different dimensions of time and space.

Sara (Caity Lotz) is shown trying to convince Rip that he has actually been a time master before he assumed the identity of a film student named Phil. Rip, on the other hand, appears to have no idea who he truly is and what he does.

In the trailer, Rip will try to jump off from the rooftop when the Waverider suddenly appears out of nowhere behind him, making him unconscious. The team will bring him to the ship’s medical bay, where they find out that their captain has been reprogrammed with a brand new identity.

Later on, Jax (Franz Drameh) will tell Nate (Nick Zano) and Amaya (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) that the Legion of Doom was the one actually responsible for what happened to Rip. It is not yet clear as to how the Legion wiped out his memories as a time master. However, it is suspected that the Spear of Destiny, which has the power to change reality itself, could have something to do with all this. Whether or not Rip remembers who he was or where these adventures would take him and the whole team remains to be seen as events unfold in the show for this year.

Legends of Tomorrow” returns from its mid-season break in Jan. 24 at 9PM on the CW in the US. In Australia, the show airs on Foxtel.
