The Apple iPad Air 3, one of the most anticipated Apple devices for 2016, will be released in March along with Apple’s next generation iPhones. Apple is also expected to launch a new edition of the MacBook Retina in early 2016.

Fueling anticipation of the iPad Air 3’s imminent launch in March were the heavy discounts for the iPad Air 2 of up to US$150 or AU$204 given on Black Friday and Cyber Monday by major U.S. retailers such as Target, Sam’s Club, Staples and Best Buy. Analysts believe this giveaway indicates the launch of the iPad Air 3 is just around the corner.

Apple is keeping as tight a lid as it can on the laptop’s launch and refused to divulge any updates about it during its annual fall event last Sept. 9 where it launched its giant screen tablet, the iPad Pro.

With a 9.7-inch display, the iPad Air 3 is expected to be thinner than its predecessor. The next generation of the iPad Air will tout a 4K resolution of 2334 x 3112 that results in a pixel density of 401 pixels per inch. Like the iPhone 6s, the iPad Air 3 will also feature a 7000 series aluminium body .

As Apple’s most coveted iPad Pro, the new iPad Air 3 is slated to be powered by Apple A9X processor and will carry 4 GB of RAM, reports Tech Times. Currently, the iPad Air 2 runs on the A8X chip.

The new iPad Air 3 device will house an 8 MP iSight main camera along with a 2 MP selfie snapper. The Tampa Bay Review reported the device will also be available in Rose Gold. The grapevine claims the iPad Air 3 will come with a price tag of US$610 (AU$831).
