Microsoft is reportedly in plans to launch its Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL Windows Phone devices by the end of this year. The Lumia 950 XL is considered to be the next flagship for Windows Phone, according to reports.

A Chinese website has spotted a prototype version of the Lumia 950 XL on Aug. 4. The Verge confirmed various images of the phone from the leaked images. The 5.2-inch Lumia 950 and 5.7-inch Lumia 950 XL is likely to ship with a 20-megapixel PureView camera, however, the Xl is expected to get a triple LED flash. Lumia 950 XL is also likely to get support for Microsoft’s Surface Pen technology. Besides that, it could also get a new smart cover that has a circular cut out for accessing notifications easily. The Redmond based software giant is expected to unveil both the upcoming phones in late September or October.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that Lumia 950 and 950XL could be similar to the leaked specifications of Lumia 940 and Lumia 940XL, reports Digital Trends. If that proves to be true, then Lumia 950 could feature a 5.2-inch screen with a 1080p resolution, a Snapdragon 808 processor with 3GB of RAM, plus 32GB of internal storage space, MicroSD card slot, 20 MP rear camera and 5 MP front facing camera.

Meanwhile, the 950XL could sport a 1440p resolution and run on a Snapdragon 810 processor. However, the camera setup and the internal storage memory are expected to be the same as the standard 950. The two phones are likely to get Windows 10 pre-installed in it. Microsoft has mentioned in its official webpage that it is working towards making Windows 10 available for other Lumia devices. Microsoft has declared that Lumia 430, Lumia 435, Lumia 532, Lumia 535, Lumia 540, Lumia 635 (1 GB RAM), Lumia 640, Lumia 640 XL, Lumia 735, Lumia 830 and Lumia 930 will be the first set of Lumia smartphones that will receive a free upgrade when available.
