Riot Games released a video on May 10 revealing a new character for their multiplayer online battle arena video game "League of Legends." The video was released during the broadcast of the on-going gaming tournament, Mid-Season Invitational, in Florida. (Watch the video below.)

The new "League of Legends" champion is named Ekko. He is a kid with a white mohawk and has his face painted. From his appearance, many in social media believe that Ekko, like Zac and Urgot, is from Zaun.

The footage shows Ekko use a magical hourglass that allows him to move in time. This helps him fix critical mistakes and defeat his opponent. However, the hourglass drains every time he uses, suggesting that his time-traveling abilities are limited. The power also doesn't heal the wounds he gets.

According to Neo Seeker, the behemoth Ekko faces in the video "looked almost like Augmented Singed." There were many fans in Twitter thinking he was Urgot. This led to the artist working on the new Urgot to Tweet that the character Ekko fights in the video was not Urgot.

Ekko's time manipulating abilities can be very useful in "League of Legends." However, it is still not certain how this skill can be implemented in the game. The biggest question is will every player be effected by the rewinding or will just Ekko be effected?

There is another time manipulator in "League of Legends," called Zilean. He is a sorcerer who has the ability to speed up or slow down friendly characters. He can also put his allies into stasis when they are about to die.

Although Ekko looks nothing like the Zilean, if fans are to be tempted into getting him, he will need his own unique set of skills. The studio has not yet announced a release date for Ekko.

According to Cinema Blend, on May 6 Riot released the Champion Mastery system. This provided rewards to the players for finishing matches and for mastering the specific characters.

The report also said that once players reach the 4th and 5th levels they would get additional perks. Players would get "custom emote, a loading screen badge and an announcement banner." Cinema Blend also said that there was a possibility of more rewards in the future.
