Reports on May 11 disclosed that the production crew for "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2" had been split into two groups last week. One of the groups was filming with the main characters in New York, while the other team was filming a car chase in Buffalo, New York.

A video was posted by an Instagram user, _susana_dasilva_, on May 5 showed behind-the-scenes footage of the film at its New York location. The video features Stephen Amell, Megan Fox, Will Arnett and two of the Teenagae Mutant Ninja Turtles. The clip shows the characters having an argument, with the Turtles then walking off.

The second video was posted on May 8 by another Instagram user, five_ten. The video was shot at Route 33 in Buffalo. The clip showcases an elaborate car chase scene. The video features an armored truck escorted by motorcycles. Two stuntmen using blow torches try to cut a hole on the roof. The duo's bulky costumes suggest that they are the Ninja Turtles. According to TWC News, despite the shooting causing some minor inconveniences for the locals, it was more positive than negative. The report quoted a local saying that it bought a lot of national attention and that they were ready to put up with the nuisance at the moment. The local was also excited by the filming processes saying that "a whole part leaves, another one comes, a whole set of people come and it's amazing"

WIVB reported on May 11 that this week, helicopters were brought for shooting in Buffalo. The report also added that in adherence with the regulations set by the Federal Aviation Administration, the public had to keep "500 feet away from the helicopters." The report stated that Lt. Jeff Rinaldo of the Buffalo Police said that no one was allowed to walk on the sidewalks near the shooting. He added that the police had brought in extra officers to ensure that no one went into "sectioned-off area."
