Disney's second "Star Wars Anthology" film will reportedly be a Boba Fett stand-alone movie. The movie is set to be released in 2018.

Meanwhile, The Wrap reported that there was no comment made by Disney regarding this matter. The report comes just days after news broke confirming that "Chronicle" and "Fantastic Four" director, Josh Trank, will not be directing the upcoming second "Star Wars Anthology" film.

The report stated that Lucasfilm and Disney are looking for a new director. It added that they could even hire someone before the first "Star Wars Anthology" movie, "Rogue One," begins filming this summer. Although the report uses the term “origin story,” 2002’s "Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones" has already shown the origins of Boba Fett and the events that led to him being adopted by Jango Fett.

Many in social media think that the new film will tell the story of the early Boba Fett adventures that take place between "Attack of the Clones" and "The Empire Strikes Back." This will be the second "Star Wars Anthology" movie following "Rogue One," which is set to be directed by Gareth Edwards.

According to The Guardian, "Rogue One" will tell the story of a group of rebel fighters on a mission to steal plans for the Death Star. The movie will star Felicity Jones, Ben Mendelsohn and Riz Ahmed.

Boba Fett’s first appearance was a 1978 animated appearance on "The Star Wars Holiday Special." Apart from Fett's role in four of the six "Star Wars" films, including an appearance in the original "Star Wars," the bounty hunter's story has been expanded on in several episodes of the animated series "Star Wars: The Clone Wars."

J.J. Abrams’ "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is set to release on December 18 this year. "Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One" will hit theaters on December 16, 2016, and "Star Wars: Episode VIII" on May 26, 2017.
