According to a report, Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" is the real winner of the award that Katy Perry's "Firework" scored.

After singer Katy Perry won the coveted prize of "Best Video" for her "Firework" piece, some are already speculating that Lady Gaga should have won if it had been nominated in the category. According to a report by the LA Times, the facts on the Awards Tracker Poll confirm that "Born This Way" could have nabbed the desirable award if it was nominated. Other nominees for the "Video of the Year" were Adele's "Rolling in the Deep," Bruno Mars' "Grenade," Beastie Boys "Make Some Noise," and best new artist winner Tyler the Creator's "Yonkers."

In the Awards Tracker Poll, a whopping 84% of the voters say that Lady Gaga's "Born this Way" could have won if it was included in the list of hopefuls. Those people also agreed that the "Judas" singer was cheated out of the award. One strong evidence to back this conspiracy is how the singer, who shockingly arrived dressed as a young Joe Calderone, won the categories she was battling with Perry, "Best Video with a Message," and "Best Female Video."

Other fans believe that this was a strategic move by MTV to want a new artist to dominate the event, since Gaga nabbed eight wins for last year's VMA's. For this year, the meat-dress wearing singer only got one nomination until MTV decided to add one more category, the "Best Video With a Message," which Gaga won against Perry.
