Kristen Stewart may have many successful movies and a Cesar Award under her belt but the actress still had to prove her acting skills to director Woody Allen by an audition.

Stewart impressed Allen with her talent but she recalled that she was really nervous for her audition. The “American Ultra” star appeared on “Live With Kelly and Michael” on Tuesday morning to talk about her latest movie and also how she grabbed the role in Allen's next yet-untitled film.

“[Allen] wasn’t in the room, but I did audition for it,” she said on the show, according to MTV. “I wanted to take that tape with me. I walked out of that room and I was like, ’Uhhh.'”

Stewart is not use to auditioning for a role as she has many been in the field of acting since 2002 so she found the whole experience “bizarre.” The actress was also nervous because she was not aware about her character in the film. “And so I just wasn’t sure. So, I just cold read, and I was like, ’I have no concept of [the character],” she said, adding that she hadn’t been “that exceptionally nervous in a long time” as she was at that audition.

She also told the hosts that she is not allowed to reveal much about the movie before its release. “I think I’m probably allowed to generally say it’s a stretch for me,” she said about her role in the film.

But all is well that ends well. The actress won the role in the Allen's movie and is happy about her experience. “It feels good to prove yourself because it’s weird when people just hand you roles, and you’re like, ’You’ve never even met me. You might hate me. You’re gonna spend three months making this thing,'” she added.

The film will reunite Stewart with Jesse Eisenberg, her co-star in “American Ultra” and “Adventureland.” Other stars in the film are Blake Lively, Corey Stoll and Bruce Willis.
