Kristen Stewart went through an “incredibly painful” time after she ended her relationship with Robert Pattinson. In her latest interview, Stewart revealed that she was happy and relieved to act opposite Nicholas Hoult in “Equals” in 2014, as both the stars were mending a broken heart at that time.

Stewart ended her relationship with Pattinson in 2014, the same time when Hoult broke-up with his longtime girlfriend, Jennifer Lawrence. “It was a really good time for both of us to make this movie,” Stewart told The Daily Beast. For Stewart, the whole experience of making a movie with Hoult was a very meditative experience.

“This movie was a meditation on firsts, and a meditation on maintaining, and a meditation on the ebbs and flows of what it’s like to love someone—your feelings versus your ideals, the bursting of bubbles, the shattering of dreams you thought were possible, and what you have to contend with as things get more realistic,” the actress said, according to the website.

“Equals,” the sci-fi film that premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, tells that story of Nia (Stewart) and Silas (Hoult) who live in a world where emotions are banned. However, the two fall in love and are forced to run or face termination.

In the movie, Stewart and Hoult also share a passionate kiss. “We wanted to make it look foreign, and found, and completely natural—but new,” Stewart said about her kiss with Hoult in “Equals.” However, the actress does not have equally fond memories of her first kiss in real life.

“It was horrible! It was so bad. It was f----- repulsive. I was 14 and it was gross. It was not good,” said the actress.
