The Kindle Fire 10 and Samsung's Galaxy Tab E Nook are having a battle royale in the tablet market. Now that these devices are going head-to-head, avid e-book readers are torn as to which one delivers a better reading experience.

Samsung's tablet has a 9.6-inch screen while the Kindle Fire 10 boasts of a 10.1-inch display. Since having a bigger screen doesn’t necessarily mean a tablet has much better features, Tech Times judged that neither of them actually beat the other.

In addition to both having 1,280 x 800 pixels resolution screens, the tablets also come out of the package with 16 GB storage, which can be expanded to 128 GB with the use of a MicroSD card. With this much storage space, e-book lovers have a lot of memory to use for saving their favorite titles.

The Galaxy Tab E Nook is powered by a Qualcomm APQ 8016 at 1.2 GHz while the Kindle Fire 10 is packed with MediaTek's MT8135 SoC with two A7 and two A15 cores clocked at 1.2 GHz and 1.5 GHz, respectively.

Samsung seems to have paid extra attention as to how e-book readers hold their gadgets. With that in mind, the Korean tech giant fitted the Galaxy Tab E Nook with a 1.2-pound textured, plastic material for its rear portion.

This way, the device is much easier to grip, even when held for a longer period of time. Amazon, on the other hand, gave the Kindle Fire 10 a shinier finish that, in turn, could make the device more slippery to hold, especially for users with sweaty hands.

It must be noted, however, that Amazon's device is much thinner at only 0.30 inches. Amazon has boasted that the Kindle Fire 10 is "lighter and almost two times more durable than the latest iPad Air”.

The Galaxy Tab E Nook costs $249.99 or AU$344.28, according to Barnes and Noble. The Kindle Fire 10, meanwhile, is priced at $229.99 or AU$316.74, as posted on Amazon.
