Samsung proved to the world that it’s capable of producing curved screens for its mobile devices as can be seen in the devices they made in 2015. Now, the Korean tech giant's latest flagships feature curved screen displays.

Earlier this year, Samsung launched the 5.1-inch Galaxy S6 Edge and the 5.7-inch Galaxy S6 Edge+. It launched the curved Galaxy Note Edge in 2014.

The rumour mill is abuzz with reports the company will only market one "Edge" smartphone in 2016. It’s speculated this new phone will turn out to be the Galaxy S7 model and it won’t have the word "Edge" on its model name, alleges Tech Times.

This change was predicted after Samsung used curved screen technology on its Galaxy S6 line. There are rumours two variants of the Galaxy S7 are now being tested.

One of these variants will sport a smaller 5.2-inch screen while the other one will have a 5.8-inch display. It seems likely the latter device will get the curved screen treatment.

While Samsung has neither confirmed nor denied these reports about the curved screen Galaxy S7, its execs pointed out the company will focus on significantly increasing its monthly production of flexible screens. The Galaxy Note 5 is coming soon, and it’s expected to shed more light on the future of Samsung's curved screen technology.

New reports have surfaced saying Samsung has ordered eight million flexible panels. Samsung’s apparently preparing to make more special screens for its next curved flagship.

Phone Arena has suggested potential names for the upcoming model: Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy S7+ or Galaxy S7 Edge+.
